q Fundraiser - Unfortunately, our fundraiser did not generate any interest. Only one person bothered to enter the raffle for the mobility scooter. Ironically, we just had an unsolicited endorsement from one of our members about the huge difference with independence that one of these scooters made to her stroke survivor husband. I just wish that one of our members wanted their independence back bad enough to be interested enough to want to buy one for themselves. I will be holding the scooter until the July 4th holiday in case a member changes their mind and wants to look into owning one. I’ll make a very good offer for the scooter but after the holiday the scooter will be auctioned at eBay. Our organization desperately needs the funds in order to guarantee that we can continue being on-line.
q Mailing Lists – its true…The Stroke Network is going to stop offering mailing lists for our stroke support medium. We have purchased our own message board, which is virtually maintenance-free. We expect to be able to eliminate all concerns with the list format and forum content. These issues are all addressed by full utilizing the new message board forums to have something for everybody. The change will hopefully be implemented by the holiday.
q I hope that all newsletter subscribers like the newsletter format better than the old style. Members can select between html and text style format. If you are currently receiving a newsletter type that you do not want then please opt-out to unsubscribe and then subscribe again with the preferences that you would rather have.
q You have probably seen the sponsorship notice that we have as a standard statement in our newsletters. We really need sponsors in order to pay the service fees that our organization has. Join our Sponsorship Program and help keep the organization going. For just $20 we can pay for one month of service for our Constant Contact service fee and for $50 we can pay for one month of web hosting fees. Please think about this…we will even list your name in the newsletter as a sponsor. Go to http://www.strokenetwork.org/donate.htm.
q Most of the members here have not properly registered. You will see the following statement at the very bottom of your newsletter:
