Here it is! Our on-line store is finally open and right on schedule! I know most of you have been waiting patiently for the address of the store and I am ready to give it to you.

I have to tell you, I looked at the objectives of what we are trying to accomplish, to raise stroke awareness, and it occurred to me that giving away only 5 free bracelets will never get us there. I also considered the logistics of operating a total giveaway program was crazy and had many negatives against the project.

• So, since the bracelets already come packaged from the manufacturer in bags of 20 we will sell them this way. The nice thing about this deal is that they are discounted by 50%. A bag of 20 will only cost you $15 plus about $5 shipping.
• Now, I also considered that some of our members are definitely in need of financial assistance. I still want you guys to be able to participate in the stroke awareness project so we will send you 5 free bracelets.
  • Do not order these unless you need them for free. I don’t mind giving them away to these people but I am trying to let everybody get involved and we need to make sure they will be able to.

• We have tested the store and the payment system and everything works fine. We did find one location in Canada that did not have its postal code listed but besides this everything tested positively.

  • For those of you who use the message board on a daily basis the store is linked from the Members Area.

Another important organization highlight is that the message board, in fact the entire website, is now available in at least eight different languages. How cool is this? You can start at the homepage or if you use the message board just go to the Members Area and the translation button is at the top of the page. Choose the flag for the language of your choice and, voila, click on the link to the message board and the whole board, every post, blog, or anywhere on our whole website, including links to other websites will be in that language. I am really excited about this!

Our message board is getting a new skin. It will be somewhat similar to the old one but much nicer. The skin should be available sometime in April. Can you believe it’s already March?

Research study on the effects of stroke on regulation of blood flow in the brain is conducted at the Syncope and Falls in the Elderly Laboratory at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston MA. This study includes measurements of blood flow using Doppler ultrasound and MRI, 24 hour blood pressure and ECG monitoring in patients with ischemic stroke > 60 years old.
