q     Little did I know it but probably at just about the same exact time that I was writing my article for our March newsletter we were actually being approved for 501 (3) c non-profit status with the federal government. The approval was actually signed and dated on March 1st and I received notification on the 4th. Therefore, I want to thank everybody for his or her donations and support that made this possible. The Stroke Network, Inc., is officially a non-profit organization now and we will do everything in our power to meet our Mission Statement and to provide the very best on-line stroke support that we can.

q     We will be making several slight modifications, which hopefully will be seen as improving the organization in order to make sure that all of our members are receiving the full benefit of being a member with us. We usually get 2 or 3 new members each day and it’s absolutely imperative that we are doing whatever is necessary to give them support and information.

q     Frank Ruby will be displaying a Stroke Awareness Quilt on April 6th in his local community. We will try to have an article in next month’s newsletter about his display and what he was doing to raise stroke awareness. We have received another request and will be telling you about that one.

q     Please e-mail our Stroke Awareness Manager, Peggy Polczynski, PeggyP@strokenetwork.org if you have questions or would like the quilt for your community.

q     The Stroke Awareness Quilts are posted on-line at http://www.strokeawareness.org/.

q     The new web design is finished and we are waiting now to receive the new logo artwork. This will be finished by the middle of next week. The actual web pages will be revised and posted in April. This new look will be the final change for our new image.

q     Lisa will be putting the final touches on our new Mentoring Program in April. She will be contacting several members to volunteer their experience with becoming a Mentor. She can be e-mailed at LMikutis@strokenetwork.org if you would like to offer your assistance.
