This weekend I overcame something I thought I couldn't do by doing something I knew I could do. I played golf again after ten years. Well, at least I picked up a golf club and took a swing with it -- with one hand. I was in Redding participating at the 4th Annual Saving Strokes Golf event. Each survivor was assigned a golf pro and after a few swings I began getting comfortable. I can do this, I just have to adapt and adjust a little. What a great feeling being on a golf course and proving to myself that I can do this as long as I focus not on the fact that one arm is paralyzed and cant grip a club, but rather focus on the fact that I have an arm that works and CAN grip a club.
