Car Titles

By Rhonda Petersen

Everyone knows that if you own a vehicle you must also retain a valid title to it. But, does anyone realize that besides the title your vehicle should have a NAME? Stay with me on this as I have not lost touch of reality completely, just the portion that makes driving a drudgery

You see, my first car had a name. She was Sally Saturn, sassy young lass born in 1998. She was a sporty little SL1 and loved to show her style and great sound system off to other cars on the road. She insisted I hand wash her every week and drive extremely carefully around schools and playgrounds. I knew she was a Sally the first minute I sat behind her petite wheel and we had many adventures together. Sally had a knack at getting lost and took me along for the ride! We spent hours roaming dimly lit streets and discovering new and exciting freeways. She had great gas mileage and we always eventually made our way out of traffic mazes. But eventually the time came to trade Sally in for a newer model and it was hard to say goodbye to an old reliable friend.

That's when Sylvia Saturn came into my life. Sylvia didn’t reveal her name to me directly upon ownership. She was too snooty. She’s a silver 2001 SL1 with an attitude.  She prefers the comfort and safety of a garage to that of open air parking and will rebuke a drivers effort to hastily speed into traffic from a freeway entrance ramp while her air conditioner and CD player are fully functioning. After all, Sylvia is a lady of the highest caliber and expects her driver to treat her as such.

What’s your cars title?
